"What else would you expect from a country that invented Rock 'n' Roll?"
This was the tag line from Chevrolet's ad campaign to launch the fourth generation Camaro in 1993. Bill Ludwig, Executive Vice President - Creative Director on the Chevrolet account of Lintas: Campbell-Ewald Advertising, said "Rock 'n' Roll conveys an attitude of freedom, an attitude of cutting loose." What better car to represent this concept than the Camaro! Television spots used the Jimi Hendrix song "Fire" to link the new Camaro to American Rock 'n' Roll. In California, several up-and-coming bands wrote songs from their impressions of the new generation Camaro that were used in radio advertising campaigns.
America invented Rock 'n' Roll and it also invented the muscle car. They say Rock 'n' Roll will never die. Let's hope that also holds true for the muscle car, particularly the Camaro.
The NEOCC invites you to help us celebrate Camaro - The Car of Rock 'n' Roll.
